Mr. Speaker, I would like to congratulate my colleague from Louis-Saint-Laurent for the vision she conveyed through Bill C-419. She identified a flaw in our laws with respect to the importance of Canada's linguistic duality, and she came up with a bill to address the issue.

Mr. Speaker, I would like to highlight the remarkable accomplishments of AlterGo, an organization in my riding. It just welcomed more than 4,000 athletes from over 20 countries for the 30th edition of its Défi sportif, which was held in Montreal.

OTTAWA – Following the Bangladesh factory tragedy, NDP Foreign Affairs critic Paul Dewar (Ottawa Centre) is urging the federal government to ensure that Canadian businesses incorporate greater corporate responsibility in their business practises.

Along with all New Democrats, I am deeply concerned about the escalation of conflict in Bangladesh in the wake of rulings of the Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal. We are especially alarmed by reports from human rights organizations and the United Nations that religious and other minority groups have been targeted and subjected to human rights abuses.

BROSSARD — New Democrats think that a light rail system (LRS) is a logical choice by the Quebec government to provide efficient public transport on the new Champlain Bridge and urges Ottawa to quickly commit to funding this project.
